Privacy Policy

This app is the official spectator companion for events hosted by the Hovercraft Club of Great Britain (HCGB), including the Hovercraft World Championships. HCGB is the data controller for the personal information described below; this app is the means by which that information is displayed to spectators.

We hold and display the following types of information:

• Driver details — name, race number, club, craft, formula, biography and photograph, provided by the club and the drivers themselves for publication.
• Race results & starting grids — positions, lap times and grid positions, produced by the event officials.
• News & announcements — event updates published by administrators.
• Account emails — the email address you use to register, used only to control access to the app.

Driver details, results and news are published so spectators can follow the event. Your email address is used solely to manage your access outside of events — it is not used for marketing or shared with third parties.

During an event the app may be open to the public, meaning anyone can view the content above without logging in. Outside of event periods the app is private, and only registered users can log in to view it.

Race results and starting grids are retained as a historical record of the championship. Driver photographs and personal details are kept for the duration of the relevant event and may be removed on request (see below).

You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is inaccurate, and to request that photographs or personal details be removed. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.
